Socrep, manufacturer of plastic films of Vaulx en Velin (22 employees) has opened its capital to the investor group Althera, whose representative is Philippe Venditelli, who comes from a French transport family. This is the second contribution of this group in Socrep to a total of 35 %. The contribution is complemented with the participation of BNP Development which is owner (9 %) of convertible bonds due 2016.

Socrep produces mainly mono and coextruded foils for the ski and snowboard industry. This use has a high demand for abrasion resistance and adhesion at different temperatures. The printing of these mostly transparent films is determined by the designers of the ski and snowboard factories worldwide.
The company exports 90 % of the total production and spends 15 % in new product development. In 2008 Socrep acquired 4 extrusion lines from a Swiss company as well as the market for the production of ski and snowboard top surface material and still keeping their sales office near Berne.
Pierre Koehl took over the company in 2000 and retains the majority also in the future. He plans to double the sales within the next 5 years.
